Public hearings on Toronto’s proposed budget will continue on Thursday.
The sessions began on Wednesday, with Mayor Rob Ford and other City Hall staff listening to speakers at the East York and North York Civic Centres.
One woman said not everyone supports a freeze on property taxes and instead would prefer “decent services.”
“We are very concerned about this budget and the burden being placed on the poorest individuals and families across our city,” another resident said.
Ford, meanwhile, said that his office has heard nothing but support for the property tax freeze.
Council will vote on the budget next month.
