Two big fires had crews busy early Sunday morning.
Firefighters were first called into action around 3am when flames broke out at a highrise building at 105 West Lodge, near Queen St. West and Lansdowne shortly before 3am.
The 2-alarm fire forced 150 residents to be evacuated from the building and onto waiting TTC buses.
There were no serious injuries, but one person was treated for smoke inhalation.
Officials say the fire is being treated as suspicious. The province’s Fire marshal’s Office is investigating.
A second fire erupted just a few hours later, around 6:30am at a house still under construction at 250 Sutherland Dr. near Bayview Ave. and Eglinton Ave. W.
It took 16 fire trucks more than half an hour to extinguish the 3-alarm fire.
Neighbouring homes were evacuated and the street was temporarily closed.
There’s no word on the cause of this fire.
