A warning about car seats has been issued by Sears Canada.
Sears said it’s been advised by Dorel Distribution of a potential safety matter affecting Cosco, Safety 1st, Eddie Bauer and Maxi-branded child restraints.
In a statement released by Sears, it said there is a potential for the harness adjustment strap to loosen during use, meaning a child may not be fully protected in the event of a collision.
There haven’t been any injuries reported.
Sears said customers should not return the car seat, but should visit the Dorel juvenile group website at to get a free repair kit.
Some of the affected restraints were sold at Sears Canada retail stores, online and through the Sears Canada catalogue.
