TORONTO — Wide receiver P.K. Sam is on his way back to the Toronto Argonauts as part of a six-player trade with the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday.
The Argos acquired Sam and defensive lineman Miguel Robede for receiver Reggie McNeal and defensive lineman Adrian Davis. The teams also traded one player off each of their negotiation lists.
Sam had 13 catches for 129 yards in an injury-shortened 2010 season. He spent his first two years in the CFL with Toronto before being sent to Calgary in a February 2009 trade.
“P.K. is a receiver with a lot of promise and athletic ability who gives us versatility with his ability to play split end,” said Argos GM and coach Jim Barker.
Robede was the first overall pick in the 2005 CFL Canadian Draft. The four-year CFL veteran has played 53 career games, making 41 tackles and seven sacks.
McNeal spent the last three years with the Argos, collecting 80 receptions for 1,090 yards and five touchdowns over that period.
Davis recorded six tackles and two sacks during the past three seasons with the Argos.
“I look forward to seeing Reggie and Adrian compete at training camp,” said Stampeders GM and coach John Hufnagel. “The receiver and defensive line positions will be very competitive at camp, so they will face the same challenges P.K. and Miguel would have faced. But we’re pleased to add them to the mix.”
