Jeff Conaway dies in hospital, family confirms

Jeff Conaway has died in hospital, his family confirmed Friday.
The 60-year-old actor had been in a coma since May 11, when he was found unconscious in his California home. It was later discovered he had taken an overdose of painkillers.
Conaway was best known for his role as Kenickie in “Grease,” and also played Bobby Wheeler in “Taxi.”
In later years, however, he was mostly seen on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” Conaway had battled an addiction to painkillers as well as substance abuse problems since the early 1980s.
His family made the decision to take Conaway off of life support on Thursday.
