Carrie Fisher brings ‘Wishful Drinking’ to Toronto

Truth is stranger than fiction and that’s certainly the case when it comes to Carrie Fisher’s experiences over the years.

The pop culture icon stopped by Breakfast Television Monday to promote the Toronto run of her popular one-woman show Wishful Drinking.

“If my life wasn’t funny it would just be true and that’s unacceptable,” she said. “I’ve had a unique life.”

Watch the video to see Fisher describe how she’s overcome some of the major hurdles in her life, including addiction and mental illness.

Wishful Drinking opens Tuesday at the Royal Alexandra Theatre and runs through to Aug. 21. Click here for tickets.
