Crews battle Annex area fire

Firefighters worked to extinguish a blaze in the city’s Annex neighbourhood Saturday night.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on Bedford Road, near Davenport, around 8:30 p.m.
Fire broke out in a home’s second-floor apartment, which is a loft.
There are report the building’s roof collapsed before crews managed to knock the fire down, around 9 p.m.
There’s no word on what may have started the blaze, or any injuries. Police tell CityNews the intersection of Bedford and Bernard will be temporarily closed for the investigation and clean-up.
