CFIA issues recall of dried mushrooms over undeclared sulphites

OTTAWA – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall over a number of dried mushroom products due to sulphite allergies.
The products included in the recall do not declare sulphites on the labels.
The CFIA says the products have been distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec.
The following products are included in the recall:
- Brand name N/A (Chinese Characters Only), Dried Mushrooms (Nikuatsu), size 2268 g, UPC code 0 74410 56023 2
- Brand name N/A (Chinese Characters Only), Dried Mushrooms, size 2268 g, UPC code 0 74410 56020 1
- Brand name N/A (Chinese Characters Only), Dried Mushrooms, size 100 g, UPC code 0 74410 56011 9
- Shirakiku brand Dried Mushrooms (Sliced Shiitake), size 28.35 g, UPC code 0 74410 56015 7
- Shirakiku brand Dried Mushrooms “Shii-Ta-Ke”, size 85 g, UPC code 0 74410 56010 2
- Shirakiku brand Dried Mushrooms “Shii-Ta-Ke”, size 28.35 g, UPC code 0 74410 56017 1
- Shirakiku brand Shiitake Mushrooms Sliced, size 57 g, UPC code 0 74410 56016 4
