The Toronto Argonauts’ training centre was destroyed in one of two fires in the GTA early Saturday morning.
That fire began around 3 a.m. in the building where the Argos practice on the University of Toronto Mississauga campus at Mississauga Road and Dundas Street West.
The province’s fire marshal is investigating to determine what caused the blaze. Peel Police tell CityNews they do not consider the fire suspicious and won’t be probing any possible criminal connection.
In a statement, the Argos said it has “not yet determined future plans for the Argonauts practice facility.”
Meanwhile, just before 1 a.m., a kitchen fire forced a Brampton family from its home near Creditview Road and Sandalwood Parkway.
The flames spread to the back of the house, but firefighters contained the fire there.
No one was hurt.
