Ron Wilson may have gotten the present he was looking for.
The Toronto Maple Leafs coach tweeted Sunday morning that he has received a contract extension from the team.
“”He came! He came! Remember saying that as a little kid? Well he did: I got a new Red Ryder BB gun and a contract extension!”
The report is yet to be confirmed.
Wilson is in the final year of his three-year contract.
Toronto has not made the playoffs in Wilson’s first two seasons, while the penalty killing unit has consistently ranked in the bottom of the league.
The Leafs have an 18-13-4 record and currently sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
