Seven bodies dumped in Caledon since 2007: Toronto Star report

TORONTO, Ont. – Caledon may be one of the prettiest parts of the province, but a new report indicates the area lures more than lovers.

The Toronto Star reports that since 2007, seven bodies have been dumped in the rural area, four of them in the last year alone.

The victims were from surrounding areas and in most cases their killers dumped the corpses in the woods or on unlit streets.

While most of the Caledon-linked cases have been solved, the killer of Sonia Varaschin still remains at large.

The Orangeville nurse was abducted from her home in August 2010 and her body was found in Caledon the following month.

Maclean’s Magazine has ranked Caledon as the safest city in Canada for the past four years.
