Mild weather returns to GTA

After a frigid few days underscored by an extreme cold weather alert, mild temperatures have returned to the GTA.
The conditions were back above seasonal Friday, with cloudy skies and a forecast high of 6 C.
“People are enjoying the weather,” said CityNews weather specialist Sangita Patel. “They’re out skating, doing the last things before school starts on Monday. It’s the weekend.”
Saturday will be mainly cloudy with a high of 4 C. Sunday’s forecast calls for a high of 1 C.
Toronto issued an extreme cold weather alert Monday and took measures to make it easier for homeless people to get shelter.
On both Monday and Tuesday, the temperature hovered in the minus double-digits and felt colder with the windchill.
The city lifted the alert Wednesday.
