Jovanovski to have surgery on broken hand

Ed Jovanovski has a broken hand and will have surgery on Wednesday, according to Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon.

The Panthers defenceman injured his hand during a fight with Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille on Monday night. Jovanovski left the game and did not return.

Jovanovski, who has eight points and 19 penalty minutes in 43 games this season, could miss up to two months with the injury.

The Panthers are 3-4-3 in their last 10 games and currently sit in third place in the Eastern Conference.
