Canada loses to T&T, caps T20 without a win

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados — Canada lost to a strong Trinidad and Tobago side by nine wickets with eight wickets remaining in its final match Thursday at the Caribbean Twenty20 competition.

Most of Canada’s production came from a pair of 20-year-olds. Ruvindu Gunasekera got off the mark with a six in the first over, and followed with another and finished with 23 runs. Hiral Patel was run out for 32.

Zubin Surkari, Raza-ur-Rehman, Nitish Kumar and Jimmy Hansra contributed a combined 11 runs.

Canada (0-4) was the only representative in the 10-team tournament that failed to win a match.

Darren Bravo scored 42 runs for Trinidad and Tobago (3-1), and Denesh Ramdin scored 30.
