Peel police continue to search for one of the most-wanted fugitives in the country — a man who allegedly masterminded the kidnapping and murder of a successful Markham real estate agent one year ago.
On Jan. 20, 2011, Jianguo (Tony) Han and his client Xiu Jun (Johnny) Fei were abducted from a multi-million dollar mansion at Featherstone Drive and Mississauga Road. Fei was found safe six days later.
About six months later, investigators found Han’s remain inside a Markham home. The 44-year-old businessman was a Chinese immigrant who started off cutting grass and worked his way up to selling multi-million-dollar homes and winning awards as a real estate agent.
Seven people have been arrested in connection to this case and are facing manslaughter, kidnapping and aggravated assault charges.
The alleged mastermind of the plot, however, is still at large.
Detectives continue to search for Guo Wei Wu. He’s believed to have connections to organized crime groups in both Canada and China and is known to frequent the GTA, Montreal, Vancouver and parts of the United States.
Police say Wu likes to carry high-end designer shoulder bags and wears glasses without lenses.
If you spot him, call Peel police at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3205 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
