Police say the parents of a toddler found dead inside a suitcase in Jamaica are also the parents of a baby found abandoned inside a Toronto stairwell in 2008.
The Toronto Star reports Toronto Police contacted authorities in Jamaica to inform them of the link between the two cases.
Stephanie and Alfanso Warren are in custody in Jamaica after police found the decomposing body of their two-year-old son inside a suitcase.
A pathologist has determined the toddler was not a victim of foul play however the cause of death remains unknown.
The couple moved to Jamaica in 2009 shortly after they were found guilty in the abandonment case of the child who became known as “Baby Angelica.”
Baby Angelica was found in a parking garage stairwell at Leslie Street and Finch Avenue in January, 2008. Police say the little girl was left in -14 C degree weather when she was about 11 months old. The parents had previously denied that the child was theirs despite DNA evidence.
