MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – It will cost more to ride Mississauga Transit as of Monday.
The cash fare will increase by a quarter to $3.25.
An adult weekly pass will go up by a loonie to $29, while an adult monthly pass will cost four dollars more at $120.
The senior monthly pass will increase by $3 and senior tickets will cost five cents more per ticket.
Students and children fares are untouched.
“The fare changes are to help maintain a balance between providing affordable fare options for customers while considering cost recovery for taxpayers,” said Geoff Marinoff, director of Mississauga Transit, said in a release.
“In this year’s budget, cost pressures included increases in labour, diesel fuel, hydro rates and a reduction in transfers from reserve funds,” he added. “To offset a portion of these budget pressures, changes to transit fares were required.”
