Van Halen and David Lee Roth together again

Van Halen, with original lead singer David Lee Roth once again behind the mic, provided a sneak peak into their reunion album and North American tour to a select group of industry insiders in Hollywood

Seeking safe harbor, the band led off with their classic rendition of The Kinks’ You Really Got Me, one of their driving songs during their first incarnation in the early 1980s.

At an impromptu intimate performance in New York in early January, Van Halen announced their return to the live stage with a 2012 North American tour.

The legendary Southern California-based rock band will begin their tour on Feb. 18. Kool & The Gang will join Van Halen for select tour dates.

In addition, Van Halen will be releasing their new album, A Different Kind of Truth, in the U.S. by Interscope Records on Feb. 7.

The first single from the album, Tattoo, and its accompanying video debuted on Jan. 10.

The release is Van Halen’s first original studio album with singer David Lee Roth since the band’s classic multi-platinum album 1984.
