It’s Valentine’s Day

From the days of Geoffrey Chaucer and courtly love, February 14th has been filled with flowers, chocolates and romance.

But those looking for that perfect way to show their love on Valentine’s Day don’t need to break the bank to do it.

There are plenty of ways to celebrate love’s holiday without spending a fortune.

The Toronto Star reports the best way to save some bucks and have stress free Valentine’s Day is by keeping the date sweet and simple with a romantic home made dinner.

Put on your apron and make your partner’s favourite dish.

To create a fancy restaurant atmosphere, drag the dining room table close to the fire place and drape it with the table cloth you never use.

Bring out the special china, light some candles and let cupid handle the rest.

Relationship expert Teesha Morgan told 1310News that couples, especially those with young children, should make sure to make time for some romance.

“When we’re getting bogged down continuously in daily life, we’d rather just take a nap,” she explained. “But I always say date nights are crucial. Doing that with your partner makes them a priority.”
