Technology reduces stress, strengthens relationships, survey says

Canadians say technology reduces stress and is vital for keeping in touch with family and friends, according to a new survey.

The Rogers Innovation Report released Thursday revealed some Canadians find it hard to go a day without using technology to talk to family and friends, and many said those relationships rank up there with eating and sleeping.

Nearly one-half of respondents said connecting with friends through technology was a priority for them and important to their personal well-being.

Also, as many as six in 10 Canadians no longer worry about their families because it’s now easier to reach them because of technology.

Twenty-two per cent of women and 12 per cent of men feel anxious when they can’t get in touch with friends and family quickly.

The Rogers Innovation Report periodically looks at Canadians’ habits and views on technology.
