Guests of an airport hotel were treated for pepper-spray exposure early Saturday after the chemical was used in an alleged robbery attempt.
Just before 1 a.m., a hazmat team was called to Quality Hotel & Suites Airport East on Islington Avenue at Highway 401 to investigate reports of an “unknown chemical.”
The pepper spray spread through the hotel’s ventilation system, and guests were temporarily moved to a TTC bus while the building was aired out.
No one was seriously injured.
Police have not confirmed anything was stolen or if they’ve arrested any suspects.
