OPP investigate several collision around the GTA

It was a treacherous drive on a number of highways north of the city, Wednesday.
Several sections of the 400 series highways were shut down due to collisions and icy road conditions.
A head-on crash shut down Highway 404 in both directions between Bloomington Road and Aurora Road.
CityNews reported that a vehicle travelling northbound crossed the centre median and collided with a southbound vehicle.
No word on how many people have been hurt but police told CityNews there are serious injuries.
Highway 400 was also shut down for several hours because of icy road conditions.
OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford told 680News there were a number of collisions along that stretch of highway.
In the Courtice area, OPP officers were called in to investigate a fatal crash on Highway 115 north of Highway 35.
