Extreme cold weather alert ends for Toronto

TORONTO, Ont. – The extreme cold weather alert has ended for the City of Toronto, Monday.
The city has had four extreme cold weather alerts so far this year.
An alert is called whenever Environment Canada predicts a temperature of -15 C or lower without a wind chill, which was the case over the weekend.
During such an alert, the homeless are advised to seek shelter. It also means extra shelter spaces will be available and street outreach will be increased until the alert is called off.
