Apple latest iPad coming to Canada March 16

Apple Inc. has unveiled its latest iPad and high-definition Apple TV.
The new iPad features a 5-megapixel camera, 1080p HD video recorder, a A5X chip with quad-core graphics for a faster user experience and a new retina display so images look sharper and are more saturated.
It will be available in the United States and Canada starting at $519 for the Wi-Fi version on March 16. It’ll also be Apple’s first device that will run on 4G LTE networks offered by Rogers, Telus and Bell. The iPad 2 is now selling for $419, the company said.
The announcements were made Wednesday morning during an Apple event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in downtown San Francisco where CEO Tim Cook boasted how the so-called “post-PC” era of computing is being dominated by the iPad and other Apple products.
Cook said Apple sold 172 million “post-PC” devices last year. Those are iPods, iPhones and iPads. Cook says those products now account for 76 per cent of Apple sales. The company sold 15.4 million iPads in the last quarter.
Cook says “Apple is at the forefront of this revolution. Apple has its feet fully planted in the post-PC future.”
The upgraded Apple TV, supports 1080p output and has a streamlined new user interface, will sell for $109 in Canada and will also be available March 16.
Apple also said it is going to start letting users store movies on its iCloud remote storage service, allowing them to access their movies from PCs, iPhones and other Apple devices over the Internet.
