Driver’s licence fees going up

Drivers will start paying more for their vehicle licence validations this year.

The sticker that goes on your plate will cost $82, $8 more than last year. The fee will keep going up over the next three years too, up to $98 by 2014.

Also, getting a driver’s licence and renewals will increase by $5 to $80 next year.

The government said the fee increases will help maintain provincial roads and bridges.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has published a full list of the fee changes.
