Hearst inquest jury makes 29 recommendations

TORONTO, Ont. – A coroner’s jury is making 29 recommendations following the investigation into the death of James Hearst.

Hearst died from a heart attack in 2009 after waiting more than half-an-hour for an ambulance.

Many of the recommendations detail the responsibilities of EMS workers when waiting for a police escort.

They also recommended that the city ensure there are no preventable delays in the provision of emergency medical care.
