Penguins announce Crosby will return vs. NYR

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that team captain Sidney Crosby will return to the lineup on Thursday against the New York Rangers.
The 24-year-old centre has been sidelined with concussion symptoms and neck problems since early December, but was cleared for contact last Tuesday.
Crosby has registered 12 points in his eight games played this season.
In a recent interview with Sportsnet 590 The Fan, Penguins general manager Ray Shero said: “(Crosby) has really, really worked hard on and off the ice the last couple of months; he’s in really good shape.”
Shero also pointed out that the Penguins didn’t make any major moves at the NHL trade deadline because they wanted to have room to insert Crosby into the lineup when he was able to return to action.
At Penguins practice on Tuesday, Crosby was playing on a line with Matt Cooke and Tyler Kennedy.
He was also seen playing the point with Kris Letang on the team’s first power-play unit, with the forwards being Chris Kunitz, James Neal and Evgeni Malkin.
