Will Ferrell announces ‘Anchorman’ sequel

Will Ferrell fans will be pleased after the comedian announced a sequel to Anchorman is in the works.

The Saturday Night Live alumnus made a surprise appearance on the Conan O’Brien show Wednesday night where his flute solo performed in character as the anchor for San Diego’s KVWN-TV Channel 4 Evening News was only upstaged by his Anchorman sequel announcement.

“I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the U.K., including England, that as of 0-900 mountain time, Paramount pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman,” Ferrell said. “It is official, there will be, there will be a sequel to Anchorman. There will be a sequel.”

The original film came out in 2004 and the sequel is expected to include the same team, including director Adam McKay, producer Judd Apatow and co-stars Paul Rudd and Steve Carell.
