Colby Rasmus had one of the more impressive games of his career Tuesday, going 5-for-5 with a home run as the Blue Jays topped the White Sox 9-5.
Rasmus, hitting in the two-hole, also added three RBIs while scoring four runs in the offensive clinic.
Blue Jays’ starter Ricky Romero (7-1) was impressive as well, picking up the win after allowing three earned runs and two unearned runs on a total of six hits.
The win puts the Blue Jays three games over .500 and helps a team that had been struggling on the road recently.
With big-hitting Edwin Encarnacion missing the game with a hand injury, Manager John Farrel shook up the lineup and the results were solid.
Third-baseman Brett Lawrie led-off for the Jays and went 3-for-5 at the top of the order. Jose Bautista had one hit and two RBIs and also picked up a walk.
First-baseman David Cooper continued his impressive run since being called up from Las Vegas, belting a two-run home run and picking up a walk.
Brandon Morrow is expected to take the mound tomorrow as the Jays continue their matchup with the White Sox.
