Retired teacher charged with sexual assault from early 80s

A retired teacher has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old male student over 30 years ago.

Daniel Campbell, 65, taught at Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate in Scarborough. Police allege the Burlington man assaulted the student on school grounds between 1982 and 1983.

The school is located at 200 Fundy Bay Boulevard.

Police said in a release that Campbell was charged with two counts of sexual assault on December 19, 2012.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
