Windows Restaurant at Rogers Centre gets $2M renovation

When Blue Jays fans file into Rogers Centre on Tuesday for the sold out home opener, they’ll notice something new.

Not only are there no more windows in the Windows Restaurant inside the stadium, but it’s actually not even a restaurant anymore.

Kelly Keyes, Vice-President of Building Services at Rogers Centre, told 680News about the change.

“It was a restaurant for years, and now we’ve made it into a concourse space, so if you’re on the 200-level you can pass right through,” Keyes said.

“It has three tiers, and you can enjoy the game come from a completely different perspective than we’ve ever had before.”

The renovation cost roughly $2 million and comes as Rogers spent more money on the Blue Jays ahead of one of their most highly anticipated seasons ever.

The 50,000-plus tickets for the home opener have been long sold out, but there are tickets available here for many of the other games during the first week.

Rogers is the parent company of CityNews.
