3 firefighters injured in Junction blaze

TORONTO – Three firefighters were injured battling a massive blaze in the Junction Monday.

The fire broke out on Dundas Street West near Keele Street shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Fire officials told CityNews that flames broke out on a second floor unit balcony and spread to the third floor.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.

According to a CityNews report, one firefighter was transported to hospital with an ankle injury. Two other firefighters suffered heat exhaustion and were taken to hospital as a precaution.

None of the injuries are considered serious.

Dundas has been closed between Keele Street and Pacific Avenue.
