12 outdoor city pools open

Just in time for a perfect Saturday in Toronto, a number of the city’s outdoor pools have opened for evenings and weekends.

The city says the rest of its 58 pools will also open part-time next Saturday, and all will start on a full-time schedule the following Friday.

“It doesn’t matter how young or old you are, or where you live in the city, outdoor swimming is a great way to be active and stay cool during the summer,” Mayor Rob Ford said in a statement.

Here’s a list of the pools currently open:

Alex Duff
Alexandra Park
Goulding
Heron Park
Maryvale
McGregor
Monarch Park
Northwood
Oriole
Pine Point
Sunnyside-Gus Ryder
West Mall

The pools will close on Sept. 1.
