Brampton plant closes after 54 years in operation

A Brampton plant has closed after 54 years in operation, leaving 170 people out of work.

Graphic Packaging’s Brampton plant has operated in the GTA since 1959 and will be stopping production Tuesday.

The plant, located at 134 Kennedy Road South, plans to sell off all its equipment by Friday.

The Atlanta-based owner of the plant says it’s no longer economically feasible to continue the Brampton operation, which manufactures products such as plastic bags, packaging and resin.
