Cat rescued after Danforth-area fire

An east-end family was forced from their home after a fire on Thursday morning.

Toronto firefighters were called to Woodmount Avenue, near Woodbine and Mortimer avenues, around 3 a.m.

The family made it out safely and firefighters rescued one cat.

Unfortunately, a second cat did not survive.

It’s not yet known what caused the fire. There’s no word on the cost of the damage.
