Ryan Reynolds gets wax figure for birthday

Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds celebrated his 37th birthday on Wednesday and received a special present from Madame Tussauds — his likeness in wax.

The honour is extra special for Reynolds because he is the first-ever fan-voted addition to Madame Tussauds Hollywood.

After three months of voting by Facebook users, Reynolds was declared the winner.

Ryan Gosling, Anne Hathaway, Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Hudson and Sofia Vergara were among the contenders.

The actor was on hand when his figure was unveiled at the museum.

According to the museum, the figure used 330 pounds of clay and was created by a team of 20 artists who took more than 200 different measurements and spent months shaping the figure.
