SIU investigating downtown shooting

The Special Investigation Unit has been called in to investigate the circumstances surrounding the injuries sustained by a 34-year-old man.
A man was reportedly hit by several shots police fired inside on the fourth floor of a high rise apartment building on Mutual Street, near Gerrard and Church, around 2 o’clock Saturday morning.
Paramedics say the victim was taken to hospital in serious condition.
Five investigators and three forensic investigators are investigating this incident. One subject officer and five witness officers have been designated.
The SIU investigates any incident involving police officers in which someone has been seriously injured or killed.
