Hadfield’s famous ‘Space Oddity’ video removed from YouTube

The video that launched astronaut Chris Hadfield into stardom is being taken off YouTube today.

Hadfield’s cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” has been viewed more than 22-million times since it was posted May 12, 2013.

But the former commander of the international space station only had permission to use the song for one year.

Hadfield’s son, Evan, who manages his dad’s social media presence told website Mashable they will try to revive the video.

“We are working on getting it back up, but there are few promises with something as complicated as videos from space,” Evan Hadfield said.
