Cyclist struck & killed by vehicle in Scarborough

A 17-year-old cyclist died after he was struck by a vehicle in Scarborough on Friday.
It happened at Neilson Road and Sheppard Avenue East at around 5:30 p.m.
Toronto police said the teen was heading west on Sheppard, near Neilson, when he was hit by a 2011 BMW 323i, driven by a 16-year-old boy.
Toronto police have not released the victim’s name.
No charges have been laid, but police said it’s an ongoing investigation.
In a separate incident, a 59-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after the bicycle he was riding on was struck by a 2012 Honda Civic at Eglinton Avenue East and Banff Road, near Bayview Avenue.
The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday night.
Police said the driver, a 26-year-old man, was travelling east on Eglinton, near Banff, when he hit the cyclist who was entering the intersection.
Police are asking for witnesses to come forward in both cases.
CORRECTION: Police had said on Saturday that the victim was a man in his 20s.
