New conflict-of-interest complaint filed against Ford brothers in court

A new conflict-of-interest complaint has been filed in court against Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and his brother Councillor Doug Ford.

Local resident and activist Jude MacDonald has filed an application with the Ontario Superior Court, alleging the Ford brothers broke the municipal conflict of interest act rules by taking part in council debates and votes related to clients of their family business – Deco Labels.

Coun. Ford was asked about MacDonald on Friday.

“She’s the same person that sits outside Rob’s office that growls at me every time I walk by.”

The case is not likely to be resolved before the October 27 election.

In November 2012, Rob Ford was found guilty of conflict of interest in an unrelated case and was ordered out of office but the decision was eventually overturned on appeal.
