Man arrested, 2nd suspect sought in Hamilton armed robbery

Hamilton police arrested one man, and are looking for a second suspect, in connection with a jewelry store robbery at Eastgate Square mall, in the Stoney Creek area.
Investigators say two armed men approached Fine Touch Jewelers just after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
According to police, one of the suspects stayed outside, while the other went in and started to grab merchandise behind the display counter, but was confronted by store staff.
A fight ensued and the man outside allegedly fired a few gunshots before fleeing the scene. Police did not say if the gun was aimed at anyone.
The suspect inside the store, who was held by staff, somehow got hurt in the melee. When police arrived, he had to be taken to hospital with leg and head injuries, but they’re not considered life-threatening.
No description of the other suspect has been released.
