Oakville taxi driver accused of being impaired

Halton police have charged a 50-year-old Oakville man who was allegedly drunk while driving his taxi early Friday morning.
Around 2:45 a.m., an officer saw a cab weaving in and out of a lane at varying speeds near Dundas Street West and Harman Gate, west of Sixth Line.
The officer stopped the driver, who was the only one in the car, and arrested him.
Mohammed Akmal has been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level of more than 80 milligrams.
He is due in court on April 14.
