Fallen firefighters honoured in Toronto on Sunday

The families and friends of fallen firefighters will gather on Sunday to honour their loved ones.

The city’s annual Ceremony of Remembrance will take place at 11 a.m. at the Harbourfront fire station on Queen’s Quay.

The names of six fallen firefighters will be added to Toronto’s Memorial Honour Roll.

A total of 245 firefighters have died in the line of duty while protecting lives, property and the environment in Toronto since 1948.

Many of the recent deaths are the result of work-related cancers.
