Trending: ‘Beauty is everywhere’ and so is Bob Ross

Bob Ross had a way of bringing down your stress level down a notch or two.

The American painter, who hosted The Joy of Painting on PBS from 1983 to 1994, had a soothing voice and used his brush strokes to tell everyone to just calm down.

The man who once suggested we talk to a tree and “make friends with it,” is once again sharing his love of nature and easygoing personality.

To mark Ross’ birthday on Thursday – he would have been 73 – all 403 episodes of the show are being streamed on the video platform Twitch until Nov. 6.

Ross was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1994 and died a year later at the age of 52. His legacy lives on with his show, which you can still watch in reruns and online.

Each 30-minute episode showed Ross armed with an easel spreading his message of peace and harmony with each stroke of the brush. It wasn’t just creating art, but serenity.

And if he made a mistake, Ross wouldn’t be bothered too much about it. He just added a tree – a happy accident, as he would say.

“Trees cover up a multitude of sins,” he once said on his show. “We don’t make mistakes. We just have happy accidents.”

Ross continues to make an impression on us not just with his masterful artwork and calming episodes. There are also Twitter and Instagram accounts of his inspiring quotes.

“Look around. Look at what we have. Beauty is everywhere – you only have to look to see it.”
