Path stabbing suspect, once again, absent from court

By News Staff

Yet another non-court appearance for a woman charged in the fatal stabbing of another woman at a Shoppers Drug Mart inside Toronto’s Path system.

Rohinie Bisesar failed to appear in court Friday.

However, Crown prosecutor Beverly Richards says the 40-year-old is under a doctors care in hospital. Richards added the Crown is “concerned in relation to her fitness” following a bizarre video appearance from the Vanier Centre for Women on Monday.

During that appearance, Bisesar warned the Justice of Peace that she had an international security concern involving terrorists and the prime minister and that he should act upon this information immediately.

Richards has requested Bisesar be present for a scheduled court appearance next week to address what she called “very pressing issues”.

Despite being arrested four months ago, the 40-year-old has yet to have a bail hearing or set a trial date.

Bisesar was initially charged with second-degree murder in the death of 28-year-old Rosemarie Junor stemming from an incident back on Dec. 11. That charge was later upgraded to first-degree murder, throwing into question original reports by police that described the attack as random. Junor died five days after the attack in hospital.
