Toronto police have arrested a man Saturday for allegedly stealing puppies.
A man posted a puppy for sale ad on Kijiji and agreed to meet the prospective buyer at a pre-arranged location where he was confronted by four men, one of whom was armed with a shotgun. The gun was pointed at the puppy owner and the puppy was stolen.
Christopher Rampersaud, 20, of Brampton was arrested Saturday and charged with armed robbery, using an imitation firearm in commission of an offence, weapons dangerous and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The original puppy that was for sale on Kijiji has not been located at this time.
Police did find another puppy in Pickering that they believe has been stolen in a similar manner that was found in the residence of the accused.
Police would like to return the puppy to its owner.
