Real estate agent uses sexy ‘lifestyle’ video to sell Courtice home

An ordinary house in Courtice, Ont. is getting extraordinary attention after a real estate agent cast herself in a quirky, sometimes sexy “lifestyle” video.

Vanessa Shelley said the house on Prestonvale Road was newly renovated and sitting vacant, so she felt she had to do something unique rather than just show off empty rooms.

“It’s like a how-to video, how to enjoy the house” she said, tongue-in-cheek.

The video, which is narrated in a Robin Leach ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’ style, doesn’t actually show much of the home.

Instead, it shows Shelley in a short robe enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck, in an evening gown exploring the storage space of the house, frolicking like a cheerleader around the backyard and baking store-bought cookies in the kitchen.

According to Shelley, lifestyle videos have become a trend in selling houses over the past couple of years but even she is surprised by the attention this video is getting.

She said it’s been mostly positive but that “there’s no such thing as bad publicity.”
