Staying in the Six: Raptors officially re-sign DeRozan

The Toronto Raptors have finalized the signing of guard DeMar DeRozan, bringing the all-star back to the only NBA team he has ever played for.

The deal is reportedly for five years at US$139 million.

The six-foot-seven, 220-pound native of Compton, Calif., averaged a career and team-best 23.5 points (tied for eighth in the NBA) with 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 35.9 minutes over 78 games in 2015-16.

He averaged 20.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 37.3 minutes in 20 games in the post-season as Toronto advanced to the Eastern Conference final for the first time.

In seven seasons with the Raptors, DeRozan has averaged 18.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 33.9 minutes in 521 games (509 starts).

The Raptors also confirmed the signing of free-agent forward Jared Sullinger, who averaged 10.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in 81 games with Boston last season.
