One woman is dead and a man was seriously injured in two separate motorcycle collisions on Saturday evening.
In the first incident, police responded to a call shortly after 7 p.m. on Kipling Avenue, north of Eglinton Avenue.
Police say a motorcycle was travelling at a high rate of speed and collided with a car. A 19-year-old man was taken to a trauma centre with serious injuries.
All lanes are closed on Kipling Avenue from Widdicombe Hill to Clement Road for the police investigation.
In the second incident, a motorcycle collided with a car on Bayview Avenue near the Evergreen Brickworks at around 8:20 p.m.
Paramedics said the female motorcyclist was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police say an investigation is ongoing and the Bayview Extension is closed southbound at Pottery Road and northbound at the Don Valley Parkway. The Don Valley Parkway ramp to northbound Bayview Avenue is also closed.
