4 injured in multi-vehicle crash on Hwy. 401 near Islington

Four people are in hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 401.

Emergency crews were called to the crash scene on the eastbound express lanes near Islington Avenue just after 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

Ontario provincial police said the collision involved two transport trucks and a cube van.

The four people were taken to hospital in serious condition, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The express lanes are expected to remain closed for several hours.
